Area Improvement Manager HS2
Improvement Manager initiates and implements continuous improvement (projects)
throughout their SCS HS2 Area Team considering the supply chain and looking at
safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and efficiency to deliver benefits
across the scope of the project.
objective is to support and inspire others to participate in the ongoing
improvement process – to streamline workflows/procedures, improve productivity
and identify (and reduce) issues at an early stage (identify and mitigate delivery
risks) at site level within your designated Area.
role is site based at your Area however regular travel is required to and
between Project Areas.
as sole point of contact for improvement work in your Area Project Team.
Area Senior Leadership to implement problem solving improvement (Lean)
and lead on collaborative planning and visual management across the Area
teams, using sessions to drive problem solving and improvement projects.
Area Project Improvement Team (PIT) tracker to record and report on
project efficiencies and benefits generated through improvement work,
measure and report on KPIs, using data to understand trends and generate
improvement activities based on analysis.
your Project Area is aligned to Project Improvement Team vision and
standard ways of working.
required deploy Lean training (e.g. awareness training) across the project at
all levels both to encourage people to see/share ideas and to enable people to use LEAN tools (i.e. problem solving, Visual
Management) in construction processes.

the Area Performance Improvement Team (Area PIT) – a group of Lean/innovation
champions from across the Area team.
and encourage people who want to make a difference – and coordinate regular networking

Required qualifications, skills, behaviours and attributes
or appropriate Qualification.

understanding and strong interest of LEAN methodology, tools and deployment,
specific training preferable (LEAN Practitioner, Six Sigma, Agile, etc)
of delivery improvement projects environments in site and office
of LEAN to infrastructure planning and construction processes.

strong work ethic, team focused and an enthusiasm to learn and develop.
